KUALA LUMPUR – The export value for halal products is expected to reach RM33 billion by 2012, about about six percent of the country’s total export value, said Vice President of Operations Developement Halal Industry Corporation. Bhd. (HDC), Mohd. Raimee Tamin.According to him, the export value for halal products in the last year is estimated at RM30 billion. “We are aiming for halal export growth of 10 percent for this year, it is based on information from the data system for the halal industry, which began in 2011 in addition to efforts to promote HDC local company to produce halal products for export, “he said at a news conference after the launch of the Halal Malaysia Week 2012 here yesterday.
