TEMERLOH 5 February – Candidate Malaysia Certificate of Education (SPM) and the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) are advised to be active in extra-curricular activities because it is an additional requirement for further study at any public higher education institutions this country.
Deputy Minister Higher Education Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said the matter was important because there are cases of students were not able to continue their studies in the course being applied due to lack of concern about curriculum.According to him, to enter the university is not difficult but it requires the initial preparation of two academic qualification and 10 per cent of the curriculum.
“We have 20 public universities and 80 private universities in which each student has the opportunity to further their studies to the ivory tower.
” What is important, to apply for a course need to be concerned about curriculum so that it does not become an obstacle to further their studies in the field is preferred, “he said. He was speaking after launching Hit the Ivory Tower 2012 (Jomega 2012) , at boarding school integration Temerloh (SBPIT), near Kerdau, here today.

Saifuddin said, next year, five university autonomy granted by the Ministry of Higher Education in making their own intake.
“Five universities is Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Universiti Malaya (UM), university Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), “he said.
